Interim Tax Compliance & Reporting Consultant - East London

Our client is an SME energy business who are seeking a talented Tax Compliance Specialist to join the team on a 6-month day rate contract. This role takes full ownership of reporting, compliance, TP and VAT. You will work closely with the CFO, and Head of Tax to optimise the tax function.

This role is based in East London and requires 4-days in the office. Circa £500-550/day PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay).

You will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare reports, provisions, and disclosures for financial statements across various tax jurisdictions.
* Ensure accurate and timely tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, P11Ds, and PSA, adhering to all tax laws and regulations.
* Implement transfer pricing strategies, mitigate risks, and manage intercompany transactions; coordinate with advisers on TP documentation.
* Prepare VAT returns, manage reporting and refund processes, including timely submissions, reconciliation, and VAT recovery.
* Oversee tax audits and inquiries, coordinate responses, and resolve issues with authorities to minimise tax exposure.
* Stay updated on tax law changes and provide insights on their organisational impact.
* Work with finance, legal, and operations teams to align tax practices with strategic goals.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive tax documentation.
* Provide occasional tax-related guidance.
