Senior Tax Accountant (VAT bias), London, to £60k + car allowance

My client, a renowned trading platform with a global presence, are looking for a Senior Accountant with a VAT bias to join their fiancé function based in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work side by side with the Head of Tax as well as alongside other senior members of the finance team.

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company’s financial records, with a particular focus on tax and VAT processes. You will have the chance to bring your expertise in accountancy and taxation to manage and optimise their financial operations, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met and continue to achieve their business objectives.

This is a hybrid role based in London paying up to £60,000 + car allowance.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all the full spectrum of tax and accounting duties, including corporate tax returns, tax planning, and tax compliance
• Support the VAT Manager, organise the VAT return processes and complete VAT returns on time.
• Advise the business departments on accounting/tax issues
• Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness,
and conformance to reporting and procedural
• Provide support during internal and external audits

Requirements:

• CTA/ACA/ACCA (or equivalent).
• Previous experience with tax planning and strategy development
• International tax experience is required
• Excellent background in UK direct tax compliance and reporting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
