With the ever increasing complexity and reach of US tax filing requirements, this dual handling private client team has been hugely successful in delivering services to their client base who have US, UK and sometimes third country combination tax issues to deal with. This particular role is focused on the OMB area of US tax and requires an experienced manager to deal with a demanding and complex client base.
A broad base of US and UK private client tax experience is required, together with a detailed understanding of the Tax Reform Act. You will need to demonstrate that you can advise clients on complex issues and discuss the available planning options with them. You will be a key contact for your clients and work closely with the Partners to deliver services and spot new opportunities.
You will need to be experienced in signing out US forms 1040, 5471, 8865 and 8858 and be adept analysing CFCs, Subpart F income and GILTI to plan around these issues and avoid double taxation. You will have solid risk awareness and be able to identify technical gaps and anomalies that need to be addressed.
An important part of the role will be to assist the leadership with managing the team and supporting more junior members of staff with their development. This will include recruitment, acting as a mentor and conducting staff appraisals. You will also be called upon at times to lecture on internal courses and provide technical updates.
It is expected that you will be an Enrolled Agent with 2-3 years’ sign out experience, and be UK tax qualified to at least ATT level. The team are looking for someone who is always focused on looking for and developing synergies within the team and its processes to maximise efficiencies.
