This Alternative Funds tax team provides expert tax advisory, transaction, and compliance services to alternative fund managers across all asset classes-including private equity, venture capital, private debt, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure.
The diverse client portfolio spans asset management, financial institutions, private equity, real estate investors, hedge funds, UK pension funds, and global institutional investors. By combining technical expertise with commercial insight, they build trusted advisor relationships with clients.
The Alternative Funds tax team forms part of a broader Financial Services Tax division, working across wealth and asset management, banking, capital markets, and insurance sectors.
With keen growth plans, they are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Associate Director / Senior Manager with strong UK tax compliance and advisory experience to join the London team. The alternative funds industry is fast moving, technically demanding, and global-offering you the opportunity to work on domestic and international structuring, transactions, and UK tax compliance and advisory matters, while collaborating with a worldwide network of tax professionals.
At this senior level within the team, you will manage the full suite of tax compliance and advisory services for asset managers and the funds they manage across the entire investment lifecycle. This includes fund structuring, carried interest arrangements, asset investment and divestment structuring, as well as ongoing tax compliance and investor reporting.
Beyond technical expertise, you'll play a key role in building the practice-developing strong client relationships and expanding the team's reach within existing and target markets. The Role
As an Associate Director, you will:
* Provide high-level tax advisory services to asset managers and their funds throughout the investment lifecycle, including transaction structuring
* Head up the delivery of corporate and partnership tax compliance services to asset managers, ensuring tax obligations and deadlines are met
* Support investor reporting, helping clients communicate taxable results effectively
* Develop and lead your own diverse client portfolio with a commitment to excellence
* Collaborate across tax teams, financial services sectors, and international offices to identify opportunities with new and existing clients
* Drive business development by nurturing relationships and pitching for new work
* Mentor and develop junior team members through hands-on coaching and training
* Adhere to risk management and quality procedures to ensure high professional standards
Are You Right for the Role?
To join as an Associate Director, you'll need:
* A professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
* Confidence in managing a portfolio of clients
It would be great if you also had:
* Strong technical knowledge and an interest in financial services tax
* Experience working with asset classes such as private equity, venture capital, or private credit
* A mix of corporate and partnership tax compliance expertise
* A track record of successfully leading projects with high accountability
* A self-motivated, collaborative mindset
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
* Familiarity with Alpha Tax, CCH Personal Tax, Power BI, and Microsoft Office
* Experience mentoring junior colleagues
