Hays are working with a top 10 firm, who are looking to recruit an Indirect Tax Manager, Cambridge, based with flexible and hybrid working.
About the Role:
As governments shift from direct to indirect taxation, businesses face complex VAT systems. You will join a team working with clients from a variety of sectors helping them navigate these challenges and take control of indirect tax. These sectors include financial services, insurance, property, international supply chains, consumer business, healthcare, TMT, not-for-profit, and education.
Your Role:
* Join a friendly, diverse Indirect Tax and VAT team.
* Manage the scoping, delivery, and billing of client work, ensuring compliance with risk management processes.
* Guide junior staff and support Directors and Partners.
* Provide accurate VAT advice, backed by knowledge of legislation, case law, and technical analysis.
* Tailor your business writing to different recipients and explain complex issues simply.
* Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
* Produce technical work that requires minimal review.
Requirements:
* Experience in indirect/VAT taxes from advisory or in-house roles.
* Level 4 tax or accounting qualification (e.g., ATT); CTA qualification (indirect tax route) is a plus.
* Manage a varied portfolio of indirect tax clients.
* Strong organisational, prioritisation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lead projects in a mixed-discipline team.
* Experience advising on complex UK tax issues is beneficial.
