An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join the Insurance Tax team as a Life Insurance Tax Senior Manager. This team, part of the wider Financial Services Tax team, has an outstanding reputation in the market, working with top global and UK insurance groups. The team provides expert tax advisory, compliance, and audit services across a wide range of sectors, including life insurance, pensions and more.
The successful candidate will have the chance to lead tax advisory, M&A tax, compliance and audit engagements within the life insurance market. They will also play a key role in fostering strong client relationships, driving new business opportunities and delivering high-quality results. Additionally, they will mentor and coach junior colleagues, helping to build expertise and support team growth.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead tax advisory on corporate, M&A, and product tax issues for life insurance groups.
* Manage high-impact projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert insights and solutions.
* Mentor and coach junior team members, helping them to develop their life insurance tax knowledge and skills.
* Drive new business opportunities, expanding the firm's offering in the life insurance sector.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* Chartered Tax/Accountancy qualification (or equivalent legal/HMRC/international qualification).
* In-depth experience in UK corporation tax for life insurance groups, taxation of life insurance products (e.g., pensions, chargeable events), or audit/accounting for life insurers.
* Strong analytical and commercial skills, with a proven ability to resolve complex issues.
* Experience in leading complex, high-intensity projects, and managing cross-functional teams.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels and build strong relationships.
* A proactive approach to identifying and progressing new business opportunities.
* A commitment to continuous learning, particularly in the ever-evolving life insurance and tax landscape.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with life tax compliance software like Alphalife.
* Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP tax accounting.
* Awareness of key regulatory principles such as IFRS 17, Solvency II, and Treating Customers Fairly.
