Senior Corporate Tax Manager
Bristol
This is a unique Senior Corporate Tax role where you would be operating as an "in-house" Corporate tax advisor to clients for their UK tax responsibilities for a large accountancy firm. There is no responsibility for business development, practice development, billing or pricing. The focus of the role is very much about delivery and client relationships.
There is flexibility to work in Bristol or remotely. A generous remuneration package and benefits.
The role will include the following :
Review and sign off for partner review, all UK corporate tax returns and computations (c150 entities). Liaise with clients to obtain approval to file with HMRC, support junior team members in ensuring all filings completed by the deadline.
Support clients in ensuring compliance with UK Quarterly Instalment Payments, this will be a mix of preparing calculations for client review and approval and reviewing client calculations. Currently approximately 30 clients are in the UK’s QIPs regime.
Advise clients on corporate tax payments to be made where not in QIPs (note junior team members will draft tax payment calculations).
Support the Statutory Reporting Team in reviewing and sign off of current tax and deferred tax balances to be included in annual financial statements for UK entities.
Assist in the preparation of UK R&D claims for clients (approx 10 clients).
Be the ‘go to’ resource for all aspects of UK corporate tax matters for both clients and the wider Global Business Solutions team. This would include providing UK corporate tax advice to clients on any group matters (e.g. a group restructuring, dissolution of group entities).
Primary point of contact with HMRC in relation to client matters, including leading on any compliance checks/enquiries instigated by HMRC.
Coordinate the annual stock option reporting process for clients operating in Australia (approx 35 clients). This is a coordination role only, acting as the liaison between the client and the team in Australia who would be responsible for the deliverables.
Support the Statutory Accounting Team on corporate tax matters outside of UK, arising on clients. Note that corporate tax deliverables etc for non-UK client entities are responsibility of local office (mix of office and third party affiliates). Therefore, support is given on an ‘as required’ basis and usually in circumstances where tax expertise is required.
Support clients on broad range of transfer pricing matters including, but not limited to, methodology to be adopted, appropriate margin etc and any local documentation requirements.
Prepare Intercompany Service Agreements for clients.
Be ‘go to’ person for international corporate tax matters for clients and wider Global Business Solutions Team, typical issues include assisting clients in assessing permanent establishment risk, withholding tax matters and local transfer pricing declarations.
Lead on specific corporate tax projects as required, e.g. recent introduction of corporate tax regime in UAE – lead in advising clients as to impact for their entities and coordinate advice and/or actions to be taken with local affiliate.
