What's the Role?

We are looking for Tax Manager to join our team in Bristol.

New role with a top 20 accountancy firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK. A well-established firm since the 1930's with an entrepreneurial and dynamic feel who are continuing to grow nationally as well as regionally.

This role will be a mix of administrative and client facing duties, you will report directly to the Tax Associate. You will oversee the delivery of personal tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of owner-managed business owners, high net worth individuals, and other private clients, with the below key tasks being carried out.

Duties Include:

•    Managing the tax compliance processes for a portfolio of clients to ensure that tax returns are filed on a timely basis and clients are advised of tax payments 
•    Reviewing personal tax returns and computations
•    Reviewing trust tax returns
•    Reviewing capital gains tax returns 
•    Preparation of more complex personal tax computations and returns
•    Following established procedures for workflows and updating these when necessary 
•    Dealing with tax enquiries
•    Conducting technical research
•    Liaising with Directors and Associates 
•    Delegating work to tax team
•    Monitoring recoveries on your portfolio. 

Qualifications: 
•    ATT or equivalent experience
•    Previous experience working in a small or mid-tier accountancy practice 
•    Broad general tax knowledge of all aspects of direct taxes
