About the Role
The VAT Assistant Manager position offers a chance to be a crucial part of a thriving team. Working closely with VAT Partners, Directors, and Managers, you'll contribute to delivering top-tier VAT technical advice and solutions to both internal and external clients. Your responsibilities will include identifying and advising on VAT planning opportunities and handling specialised technical assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary client contact, consistently upholding the principles of exceptional client service.
* Execute assignments in accordance with pre-assignment instructions, efficiently managing complex aspects while adhering to firm procedures.
* Maintain VAT quality, following the Partner's guidance, and contribute to internal and external quality assurance efforts.
* Prioritize client communication and keep clients and Partners informed of VAT work progress.
* Deliver VAT consultancy services to clients, ensuring they receive the highest-quality advice on indirect taxes.
* Respond promptly to client requests, adhering to the firm's internal client charter, and consistently offer proactive support.
* Stay updated on the firm's specialist services and publications to enhance client service.
* Develop advanced technical knowledge through ongoing learning and stay informed about the firm's services.
* Accurately log time spent on client matters using relevant software.
* Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
* Maintain awareness of Health and Safety within the Firm and report concerns to the Health and Safety Representative.
* Undertake other duties within the scope and purpose of the role as directed by management or Partners.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Strong educational background, particularly in Maths and English.
* Proven experience in VAT planning.
* Demonstrated ability to handle VAT enquiries effectively.
* A track record of client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
