An exciting opportunity has opened up to work within a leading R&D and Incentives team based in London. As a Manager in the team, the successful candidate will have the chance to work with a variety of very high-profile clients, including FTSE 100 and 250 multinational companies. The clients are at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technology that is helping the UK to stay as a market leader by encouraging investment into research and development.
The Manager will be required to work closely with clients' finance, tax and engineering departments, from all different sectors and of all different sizes. They will work within the team to lead the preparation of R&D claims and ensure compliance against tax legislation. Within the Innovation team, they will be exposed to cash grants and patent box applications. As well as working directly on existing projects, they will also be offered the chance to support business development opportunities.
The Manager will primarily be based at their home office but will need to travel occasionally to support the national practice. There is a clear path for progression for the right candidate, making this a unique opportunity to progress their career in one of the leading Incentives and R&D tax teams.
Key responsibilities for the Manager include contributing to the efficient and successful delivery of R&D tax services to the client, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing high levels of client service. The Manager must also build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations. They must contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients. Additionally, they will be responsible for day-to-day client liaison.
To qualify for the role, candidates must be fully qualified ACA/CA/ACCA/ATT/CTA, or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training Course, with a minimum of 3 years' experience as an R&D tax practitioner. They must have experience leading on and project managing the preparation of claims, and have strong Excel capability, including use of VLOOKUP, IF functions and pivot tables, including manipulating large and complex datasets. Experience in leading teams and coordinating delivery of services both in the office and remotely, as well as strong writing and communication skills, are also required.
