Indirect Tax Manager – In-house, Media - Remote/ Hybrid

One of the world’s most highly respected News agencies are looking to hire an Indirect Tax Manager due to an on-going effort to tighten controls and advance the finance function.

This role reports directly into the Head of Tax, who in turn reports into the CFO. You will be supported by a Tax Accountant, freeing you up to take on more challenging projects whilst still having oversight of the UK and International VAT compliance.

- Oversee the preparation of UK VAT returns, as well as the prep and submission of VAT returns pan-EMEA
- Oversee the prep and submission of US sales and use tax returns, utilising Avalara and assessing its future capabilities
- Oversee new registrations as well as assessing potential deregistrations
- Acting as Subject Matter Expert on all indirect tax matters, researching issues where required and leading on tax audits

This role will involve working closely with outsource providers and advisors, requiring good project management and communication skills.

You will also be analytical and good with data, with the ability to recognise areas of priority and areas that can be delegated downwards.

This position will suit someone either moving from practice with good commercial sense, or someone with an in-house background (ideally with international exposure).

Currently the business is working remotely, but in time will move to a flexible model of 2-3 days in their central London office.
